About Us
The reason we created Barefoot Surf is simple: when we first started surfing, we wished something like this existed.
We grew up in inland Canada, 500 km from the ocean, with no one to guide us. We rode the wrong boards at the wrong spots and had no idea how poor our technique was. Later, after years of travelling and meeting experienced surfers, we finally received the feedback we needed, but we never found a traditional surf camp that offered the kind of coaching we had dreamed of. So we created it.
We never set out to run a surf school. We set out to create the ultimate surf coaching retreats for beginner and intermediate surfers. That’s why we do things a little differently.

We share our love for surfing because it changed our lives.
“Life is better when you surf”, and it only gets more fun as you progress. We know there’s a path to accelerate the learning process, and we want to share it with you because nothing compares to the feeling of improving your surfing on some of the best waves on Earth.
